Quantisal™ Oral Fluid Collection System

Oral fluid drug testing using Quantisal™

At Quest Diagnostics, we know that having more choices when monitoring employees for drug use is essential to maintaining a drug-free workplace. For those situations when urine collection is not practical or observed collection is needed, Quantisal™ oral fluid collection is a convenient, minimally-invasive solution that is ideal for detection of recent drug use.

When it comes to workforce drug testing, you can’t afford to compromise. You may consider all tests to be pretty much the same, but considering your investment in your business, choosing the right test types and services is critical.

Advantages of Quantisal™

  • Sample adequacy window. The patented collection device with built-in sample adequacy indicator window shows the collector that a sufficient quantity of oral fluid has been provided. This also decreases the likelihood of the sample being rejected as "quantity not sufficient" and thereby reducing the time and expense associated with a second collection.

  • Easy collection and fast turnaround. Specimen collection with the Quantisal™ collector typically takes about 5-10 minutes. Testing is performed the day it arrives at our laboratory, with negative screening results reported within a day. Positive results are confirmed, reviewed, and typically reported within 72 hours of receipt. Take our online collection training.

  • Reliable for detecting recent drug use, especially marijuana. Quantisal™  tests a variety of drugs in oral fluid including amphetamine, methamphetamines (including MDMA and its metabolite), cocaine (metabolite), marijuana (THC), opiates (codeine, morphine, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, 6-AM (heroin), oxycodones (oxycodone, and oxymorphone), and PCP.

Why use oral fluid testing?

Oral fluid testing offers confidential, laboratory-based drug test results from an easy-to-use collection method. By using oral fluid instead of urine, donors can collect and cap their own specimens  in the presence of a monitor, reducing the likelihood of a donor challenge later on. The Quantisal™ collector is a minimally-invasive, easy-to-use method that can be used for pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and post-accident drug testing. Additionally, we perform specimen validity testing on every oral fluid specimen, giving you the added assurance that the specimen is appropriate for testing.
