Enrique Terrazas, MD, MS

Enrique Terrazas, MD, MS is the Chief Laboratory Officer at Quest Diagnostics. He is a leader in Medical Quality with extensive expertise in Laboratory Management, Graduate Medical Education, and Pathology Informatics.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1988, Dr Terrazas completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in 1993. He remained at UCSF until 2000 where he also pursued a residency in pathology and laboratory medicine, a fellowship in informatics, and a Master of Science in medical education sciences. Dr Terrazas became faculty at UCSF in the Department of Laboratory Medicine in 2000 at the conclusion of his training and remained at UCSF for 15 years before starting his career at Quest in 2015.  

Dr Terrazas is regularly invited to present his research at national and international meetings. He is also an editor for the Journal of Pathology Informatics and a peer reviewer for the Applied Clinical Informatics Journal. Over the years, Dr Terrazas has been widely recognized for his achievements and contributions to his discipline. Most recently, in 2019, he received the President’s Club Award by his peers at Quest.

Dr Terrazas is board-certified in Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Medical Informatics Association, Association for Pathology Informatics, Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists, American Society for Clinical Pathology and American Association for Clinical Chemistry.
